Full Day Tour of Edinburgh and Leith
This is a full day tour of Edinburgh, including a coach and walking tour of Edinburgh, Edinburgh Castle, the Port of Leith and the Royal Yacht Britannia. Pick up in Edinburgh CIty centre and we'll drive around the UNESCO World Heritage Old and New Town areas of Edinburgh.
We will learn the many nicknames of Edinburgh enjoying the Georgian Greek Doric style architecture of the New Town, discovering how Scotland invented the modern world! We will pass the second largest monument in the world dedicated to an author, The Sir Walter Scott Monument.
The tour will take in the Old Town area stopping for a photo opportunity at the Palace of Holyrood, the official residence of the Royal family in Scotland. We will marvel at the different architecture in Edinburgh, from medieval buildings to the modern ‘controversial’ Scottish Parliament building.
We will then have a guided tour of Edinburgh Castle before heading down to the historic Port of Leith for lunch in one of Scotland’s top gastro pubs, (Lunch price is not included) followed by a walking tour of Leith taking in a local market with various stalls selling local goods and produce.
The tour ends with an audio tour of the award winning, former Royal Yacht Britannia.
Return transport is not included, however the tour finishes at the tram and bus terminal in Leith with easy access back to the centre of Edinburgh.
Castle and Yacht entry fee is included but lunch is on you. This is to allow you to give you the flexibility to choose whatever you like depending on how hungry you might be. (Vegan and Vegetarian options will be available.)
