Paul James Stewart Tours

A Few of Paul's Many Recent Reviews on Trip Advisor

Aug 2025 - "Paul James Stewart is an excellent tour guide - knowledgeable, informative, kind, and helpful. I highly recommend him!"

Jun 2025 - "Paul took us on a unique journey through the history, politics and religion of the last 1000 years, weaving in his own experience of growing up in Leith. I cannot recommend this more highly. Entertaining, informative and immersive experience from start to finish. Awesome. If I could give it 6 stars I would."

Apr 2025 - "I first met Paul when he was doing online tours during the pandemic and was amazed at his knowledge of the history of Scotland. He is very personable and friendly and quite entertaining because he is so passionate about everything having to do with Scotland. I was thrilled to be able to meet him in person and do a live tour for my group of 12 travellers. He was very welcoming and went above and beyond in the days leading up to our tour. He even gave us tips for getting to our hotel from the train station. On the actual tour, in true Paul fashion, he attended to every detail. He had a headset even though there were only 12 of us (it really made a difference!) His historical knowledge was amazing. He was friendly and entertaining. And he was very mindful of different views and made sure not to dive down polarizing topics (like Trump!) I would highly recommend Paul to anyone wanting a true taste of Scotland while in Edinburgh. I will definitely be doing more tours with Paul in the future."

Apr 2025 - "Paul was incredibly interesting and enthusiastic in his tour of Edinburgh. We loved how he would exclaim out loud " How shocking!!" after sharing some little known stories of Scottish history, even pointing out a few "Easter eggs" that stood out to him. He kept us engaged and interested the whole time. I would definitely recommend his tour for folks who can relax and have a laugh! Paul, you were spot on about the botanical gardens being gorgeous this time of year!"

Aug 2024 - "Paul was fantastic. We had a large group (13) and at times it was a little crazy keeping everyone together but Paul just went with the flow. We had 5 grandkids in our group and Paul tailored the tour to make it very kid friendly. He explained the history in terms that they could understand. He had great stories and fun facts about the Castle and the Royal Mile. He was very flexible on the time and made our trip very enjoyable."

Feb 2023 - "Great tour of Leith/Edinburgh by Invisible Cities, a social enterprise which trains people who are/were affected by homelessness to become tour guides. Our guide Paul is such a hearty, witty, and informative person who took us to places (architectures) relevant to the theme, read some highlights from the Trainspotting book, and always ready to answer our questions. I learnt a lot from the tour and enjoyed every minute of it. Truly fantastic enterprise."
